Arizona Bass
Players Solo Competition
The 2009 ABP Festival will hold its second Solo Competition.
Now in two categories: Electric Bass playing and Double Bass playing. We are
still developing sponsorship at this time, but the Electric Solo Competition
is sponsored in part by Lance Roederer and Arizona
Music Pro, Inc., of Flagstaff, Arizona. Other sponsors to be listed here
soon.
~ The competition is
open to all double bass players who are 15 - 22 years of age on March 5, 2009,
who are current Members of Arizona Bass Players, Inc. and who have registered
for all four days (discounted Full Registration) of the Arizona Bass Players
Festival, 2009
~ There is no fee to register for the competition.
~ The competition must be played with accompaniment, if the music requires
it, and may be in solo or orchestral tuning.
~ If pianist is to be provided by ABP or ASU-School of Music, copies of accompaniment
parts must be sent in advance.

The Competition Jury will comprise members of the Board of Directors of ABP, Inc. as well as Guest Clinicians. Determination of Prize Winners in the competition will be the sole responsibility of the Competition Jury. After consideration of the merits of meeting specific performance criteria, a single prize, multiple prizes, or no prizes may be offered. A Grand Prize Winner may be offered as deemed appropriate by the Competition Jury. The decisions of the Competition Jury are FINAL and are not open to discussion or dispute. Participants in, and sponsors of the competition agree to these terms. Rules and Regulations of the Competition are subject to change upon the discretion of the Board and Competition Jury up to two weeks before the First Performance Round. All registered competitors will be notified of any changes.
Registration for the competition may begin as early as registration for the Festival and is done on the same page.
